Crossbirdz 3v3 Power Rankings - Week 6

Welcome to the fourth weekly edition of the CrossBirdz 3 v 3 tourney Power Rankings.  Please note that Power Rankings do not necessarily reflect a team's current position in the standings, but rather how well they are playing at the moment and their potential strength going forward in the season.  Week 5 was an interesting one, which included an unexpectedly lopsided match on Ice as well as the addition to the tourney of 2 guys that no one knows or vouches for except Daky.  What could go wrong!?!?

#1 (Previous week: #3) - RINGERS (4-0)

One of those new guys has been assigned to the Ringers, giving them (potentially) the roster stability they've been lacking all season.  Plus, I heard this new guy can outshoot Playa yo!  And we all know what that means...If this roster move works out, Ringers clearly appears to be the new team to beat.  A week 6 date with AGT on Axis Complex should be interesting indeed.

After being unable to hook up with busy important American scientific businessman Ding and BRNGNV throughout all of last week, AGT faces the unenviable task of facing both BR and Ringers in the same week, possibly the same night.  It will be a telling week for Ace, Gary, and...the penis car?  Coming out of this week with a 3-2 record would not be surprising, but neither would coming out 5-0.  Playoff seeding is on the line!

#2 (Previous week: #1) - AMBIGUOUSLY GAY TRIO (3-0)

#3 (previous week: #2) - BACKGRAGENOGIBSNOVIVES (2-1)

The Backragers also get to partake in a doubleheader this week, and could come out of it as either 1 of the dominant teams in the tourney, or somewhere in the middle of the pack.  While no one doubts the viciousness of their guns or individual ability, has the team played together enough to develop the kind of chemistry they'll need to make a strong playoff push?  This week should answer that question.

#4 (previous week: #5) - V53 STOOGES (3-2)

The Stooges put on a show on Ice, with dominant defense and 3-man nades raining down in the service halls.  No one predicted their 3-0 win over Beast Mode, but it would be wise not to take this team lightly for the remainder of the tournament.  With the other new 1.0 addition being added to their roster, who knows how much of a detriment or improvement he will be.  Unfortunately, the team now has to rename to V54 Stooges, and someone has to be Shemp :(.

#5 (previous week: #4) - BEASTMODE (2-3)

Sonic in Vegas on a Pentium 3 laptop.  LikeThat out full.  8s also out full, and tired and wasted from a trip to the beach/copious pot smoking.  Mental lapses from the whole team.  These have all contributed to this team's fall from grace, after they looked like the team to beat over the first 2 weeks of the tournament.  They now have a week to regroup, lick their wounds, get Sonic back home, and prepare for the final week of the regular season on Beach, which would appear to be one of their stronger maps. ???

#6 (previous week: #6) - THROWBACKS (0-4)

The Throwbacks got Ringer'd on Ice last week, falling to 0-4 and setting up an epic match up vs. Team Canada (0-4) this week.  It's a win-win situation for the entire Wolfenstein community, as 1 team will come out with it's first victory of the season, and 1 team will be the butt of endless, merciless ridicule for the next several months, maybe years.  Good times either way.

#7 (previous week: #7) - CANADA, EH? (0-4)

The Mounties have a chance to break out of their season-long slump this week vs. a Throwbacks team that has been similarly mired in the depths.  Not only that, but the match will feature Gut making his season debut, as well as a shoutcast by the one and only Warwitch!  It will be an interesting and entertaining match, particularly coming on 1 of the more underplayed maps, Axis Complex.

Thanks for reading.  It was an interesting week for the tournament even though only 2 matches were played.  This week should be even more so, with 4 matches, 2 new players, a Warwitch shoutcast and a super gay map.  Don't miss a moment of it!  We value your thoughts and opinions.  Less and less.
