CONTRIBUTORS NOTE: Welcome to the first weekly edition of the CrossBirdz 3 v 3 tourney Power Rankings.  Please note that Power Rankings do not necessarily reflect a team's current position in the standings, but rather how well they are playing at the moment and their potential strength going forward in the season.  At the moment, these rankings are based solely on one person's opinions (who shall remain anonymous), and therefore any hate mail/trolling/whining/real life threats regarding the rankings should be sent directly to Jon Mirro, the editor-in-chief of the site, who is ultimately responsible for all content therein.  And now to the rankings!

#1 - BEASTMODE (2-0)

It's hard to argue against Beast Mode claiming the #1 spot this week.  They are the only team thus far with 2 victories, and both of those have been earned in rather dominant fashion, dropping only 1 round in the 2 matches combined.  Sonic has been the team's terminator up to this point, coming up with huge plays in both matches with a ridiculous overall KDR.  Captain Eights and first round pick LikeThat have played well behind him, with fancy doc running on Frostbite and solid teamwork on Pacific.

#2 - AMBIGUOUSLY GAY TRIO (1-0)

While they have only played 1 match so far this season, AGT won that match quite convincingly with the highest team KDR of the season so far (1.87).  With the dual handcannons of Troll and LeanPocket on the front line and Spuddy with his medic needle behind them, this team could be tough to beat.  AGT will look to improve their teamwork and roll to a 2-0 start over Canada eh? this week.

#3 - RINGERS (1-0)

With a 1-0 record and an extremely solid duo of Playa and Kittens as the base of the team, the Ringers could very well be ranked #1 or 2 if it weren't for....well, the ringers.  With Scrilla's availability still up in the air, the Ringers will be forced to look for outside help for the foreseeable future.  Will they be able to gel with a new teammate on a weekly basis?  Will their great guns and individual play be able to carry them through to further match wins against teams who have been practicing with their full roster?  Will Scrilla make a positive contribution if and when he comes back?  Time will tell.

#4 - V53 STOOGES (1-1)

It's been a tale of two matches for the Stooges so far, rolling to a 3-0 victory over the Throwbacks on Frostbite before getting 3-0'd themselves by AGT on Pacific.  However, the lineup of Daky, Ryknow and Brujah is a solid one, with 3 committed players who look to scrim and strat as much as any team in the league.  If Ryknow can continue to put up numbers similar to those he did as a BRNGNV ringer on Pacific, the Stooges may be going places.  The pivotal question on a week to week basis may indeed be how much and what kind of drugs Moe, Larry, and Curly are on.  Nyuk nyuk nyuk.

#5 - BACKRAGENOGIBSNOVIVES (1-1)

Similarly to the Ringers, BRNGNV has the talent and potential to be much higher in the rankings if it weren't for an unsettled roster issue.  After some scheduling mishaps on Pacific, Ding is in full rebellion whether or not Knifey and Bassman know it.  With a 1-1 record and a very tough match vs Beast Mode coming up this week, BRNGNV have some soul searching to do.  If this team can sort out its issues and get its full 3-man roster on the field on a weekly basis, there's no doubt they have the skills to make a lot of noise in this tournament.

#6 - THROWBACKS (0-2)

With two disappointing losses under their belt, the Throwbacks get a week off to lick their wounds and regroup.  There is undoubtedly potential in the group of Virus, Caffeine, Deadeye and Meshugga, but they haven't yet put it together for a full match, and their record reflects this.  Is the 4-man rotation affecting team cohesion?  Do they just need a little more time to get to know each other and work out a gameplan?  Whatever the reason, the Throwbacks will need a stretch of solid performances to claw back into playoff contention. But don't count them out just yet.

#7 - CANADA EH? (0-2)

After an ugly defeat on Frostbite and a heartbreakingly close loss on Pacific, the mounties need to turn things around quickly before all they have left to do is play spoiler to other teams.  Captain Tragic's plan of enlisting his fellow countrymen (or those close to the border of his country) has not yet translated into W's, but based on the team's hard fought match in week 2 they're not saying uncle quite yet.  It's time for this team to do a Gut check, grow a Dongbeard and go on a Rampage.  We'll find out if they can in week 3!

Thanks for reading.  As noted above, please send any negative feedback privately to Jon Mirro [EDITORS NOTE: BRIAN O'HERON WROTE THIS] on Facebook so that my feelings don't get hurt.  For positive feedback, please post in the public group so everyone can see.  We value your thoughts and opinions.  Somewhat.
